Hello and welcome to my cleaning blog. Cleaning can bring you a lot of joy. Without it, our homes and businesses would literally be covered in old food, dust, and garbage. My name is Penny, and in this blog, I'm going to cover cleaning techniques and tips for staying organized. Whether you are trying to wash a stain out of a shirt or keep on top of the vacuuming, I hope these posts help. I also plan to write about hiring professional cleaners for your home, office, or even your industrial facility. My hope is that this blog brings you as much joy as a clean space.
The windows of your home are important for seeing in and out, but dirty, foggy windows and frames can affect your home's curb appeal, too. Different glass cleaners sold in stores are effective, but they contain ammonia, which may be harmful to your health and wellness. With this guide, you will learn a few natural solutions for cleaning your windows and frames.
You may be surprised to learn that vinegar is one of the most effective cleaners to use in and around your home. This common household ingredient has antibacterial and antiviral properties, but its acidic nature is capable of eating through tough dirt and residue, as well.
For a general glass cleaner, add the following to a spray bottle:
After shaking the bottle to mix the ingredients, douse the window glass with the solution. Use a sponge, paper towel, or squeegee tool to remove the vinegar solution and remaining dirt and dust from the windows. The vinegar will eat through dirt, dust, bird droppings, dead insects, and even heavy residue on your glass without much effort.
Streak Removal Solution
Even with the best intentions, you may leave streaks behind on your glass. Streaks affect your ability to see in and out of the windows, but they can also affect your home's curb appeal. Thankfully, you can remove glass streaks without heavy chemical solutions.
In a bottle, combine the following to create a streak-removal solution:
Mix the ingredients by shaking the bottle. Then, spray the solution onto the glass. Use crumbled up newspapers or dry paper towels to wash the windows. This will ensure the windows are clean without any streaks.
Window Frame Cleaner
The method in which you clean your window's frames will depend on the material they are made of.
For wood frames, avoid using an excess amount of water, since this could cause the wood to warp and rot. Soak a sponge with a scouring pad in a solution that contains warm water and liquid dish soap. Make sure to wring out the excess liquid. Then, use the sponge to wash the frames. For stubborn patches of dirt and dust, use the scouring side of the sponge.
For vinyl frames, cleanup will be a little easier. Choose the same vinegar solution you used on your window glass to clean your vinyl frames. Or, create a soapy solution in a spray bottle with warm water and a few drops of liquid dish soap.
If you own an office, apartment or other tall building, you may want to consider a window cleaning service, such as Skyline Highrise Services.
