There are a lot of times when you want to have your carpet cleaned for various reasons. Sometimes, you can get away with cleaning up a spill or another mess if the carpet isn't due for a professional cleaning. Then, there are times when you want to have the carpet cleaned even if it looks clean. Here are examples of situations when you want to call someone out to give your carpeting a good professional cleaning:
You had a renter move out
If you own a rental property, then have the carpet professionally cleaned when the renter moves out, before you get another renter. In fact, many states have laws in place that make it your legal obligation to professionally clean the carpet before you rent the rental home out to another renter. Some states allow you to demand the renter to have it professionally cleaned, but if they fail to do so, then it falls on you as the owner to make sure that it gets done.
You have had water damage
If you had a flood that led to water damage, then once the carpet has been dried, you still want to have it cleaned. If the flood was from your septic system, then all kinds of germs and sewage could have ended up in your carpeting. If you had the carpeting dried up right away and decided to keep it, then you definitely need to have someone come out right away and professionally clean it. Let them know what the issue was too; they may have special chemicals they would want to use in this type of situation.
You had a pet who was sick
If you have a pet make a mess in one area, then you can work on the area and get both the stain and the odor out in many cases. However, if you have a pet who ended up getting sick all over and you weren't home to stop them and clean up any mess they left right away, then there is a good chance that you are going to find it extremely difficult or even impossible to get the stain and/or the odors out of the carpet all the way. Pet odors that seem to be gone after you clean them can seem to reappear when the home has been closed up a while. You may think you got the odor out but then notice it immediately when you come home after being gone a while. This is why you want to have the carpet professionally cleaned after a pet has made messes throughout any area in the home.
